Singleton Heights Pre-School - Enrolment

The pre-school abides by the priority of access guidelines established by Early Childhood Education and Care, which states that pre-schools must give priority to:

  • Children who are at risk of significant harm
  • Children with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Heritage
  • Children in the year before starting full-time school
  • Children from low income families (eg: Health Care Card holders)
  • Children with a language background other than English (LBOTE)
  • Children with disabilities

You are welcome to place your child’s name on the waiting list at any time, with enrolments for the new year beginning in July. If your child is offered a position, enrolment packs are sent out and families are asked to attend an interview at the centre to which they bring completed enrolment forms, birth certificate, Immunisation History Statement and any other relevant reports or documentation. The enrolment fee of $150 will also need to be finalised at which time you will receive a free hat and t-shirt for your child.  You will be introduced to staff, given a tour of the centre and your child is welcome to join in the activities while visiting.  This is a perfect opportunity for you and your child to get to know their new surroundings and for you to ask questions and become familiar with the centre.

If desired, further visits will be organised to ease the process of your child’s transition to pre-school.

Enrolments also occur during the year when vacancies arise.

What to Bring

Each day your child attends pre-school they will need a bag including:

  • morning tea and lunch (in separate, labelled paper or material bags / lunch boxes). You will be given a copy of our healthy food policy, however nuts or foods containing nuts are asked not to be sent to pre-school due to child allergies.
  • A snack for afternoon tea in the lunchbox if your child will be here after 3.20pm
  • a drink bottle
  • spare clothes (underpants, t-shirt, jumper, pants)
  • hat (legionnaire or wide-brimmed style)
