Hand in Hand - Families, School and Community

P&F Committee

A P&F fundraising committee meets monthly to organise family events and other activities to raise funds to provide for improvements or resources for the centre.

Singleton Heights Pre-School - Management

The pre-school is managed by a Management Committee made up of parents and interested community people, who meet monthly. The group abides by the services “Rules of Incorporation” and is responsible for financial management, maintaining appropriate insurances, employment and employee management, maintenance, marketing, quality improvement, political lobbying, centre improvement, policy development and compliance with local, state and commonwealth legislation, in liaison with the team of experienced, qualified educators and administrative staff.

Upon a child’s enrolment at the centre, the parents / carers become members of the incorporation and are eligible to join the Management or fundraising committees. These committees are elected annually at the Annual General Meeting and meet monthly at a time determined by the committee members. If parents do not wish to join a committee they are welcome to attend the meetings at any time, or they may like to help out with special events.

Fees / Funding

The service is non-profit so the fees paid by families help to cover the costs of running the centre. The Department of Education and Communities funds the remainder of the centre’s annual budget.

When enrolling your child at the Pre-school, a $180 enrolment fee is paid which includes:

  • Admission Fee            $14.00
  • Annual Membership    $30.00
  • Refundable Deposit  $136.00

The enrolment fee also includes a free shirt and hat in your choice of four colours with our pre-school logo. When a child leaves the centre the $136.00 deposit is deducted from the account if fees are up to date.

The current daily fee to attend Pre-school is $27.00.

The State Government subsidises fees through the pre-school for all families holding a current Health Care Card. Eligibility for fee subsidy is reviewed during the year to ensure access and equity for all families.

Children enrolled with additional needs may qualify for funding support to the pre-school from Northcott Disability Services. This facilitates inclusion in the pre-school program by helping to subsidise the employment of additional inclusion support educators.
